GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  Assist the Manager of Information Technology as necessary with tasks as assigned. This position will consist primarily of data entry into database with focus on reviewing and processing documents and print-outs and assisting other departments as required or as time permits.




  • Inputs and processes information for database for Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, Field Payroll, Field Crew Safety Bonus, and Company Overhead Entries.
  • Also inputs and processes additional data as requested by either Manager of IT, Accounting Department, or Executives.
  • Includes all initial input and corrections to be made on edits. Makes suggestions for corrections if errors are found.
  • Handles the payroll applications on software system as required.
  • Handles special projects as assigned by the Manager or Executives.
  • Checks records for duplication.
  • Perform basic management of electronic files (e.g. print, copy, and transfer).
  • Accesses information from the computer database.
  • Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, and binding as required.
  • Report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Recommends or develops cost-saving or time-saving ideas.
  • Participates in professional development programs as requested or required.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.


EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Must be able to follow all prescribed office policies and procedures and obey safety rules. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information. Maintain a business-like and professional manner in appearance, attire, and attitude at all times. Ability to understand logical processes and be detail-oriented. Ability to work with strong attention to detail and timelines. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area. Office hours are 37-1/2 hours per week; due to work requirements, working in excess of regular work week may be required at times.


EDUCATION:  2-year degree in Information Technology or equivalent general business, math, and computer knowledge preferred.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:  Strong familiarity with computers and software. Other requirements will include minor troubleshooting of computer related issues, a high rate of accurate typing (50 words per minute or faster), use of databases and the ability to offer excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced, team environment. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and previous experience with Databases (AS-400 experience preferred). Experience related to general administrative/office duties. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Self-starter and self-motivated.


EQUIPMENT USED:  Personal computer, additional computer equipment (no prior training necessary), telephone, fax, calculator, copier.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office and warehouse environment and there is contact with entire staff and outside general public.                                                   




ACCOUNTABILITIES:  Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all assigned duties and schedules both individually and departmentally.
